After School Workshops
We’re excited to offer after school workshop for the first time. After school workshops are open to middle school students (5th – 8th grades) and will meet on Tuesday, 4:30 – 6:30pm, for four weeks. Workshops are a great way to explore specific STEM topics in a small-class setting while designing and fabricating a take-home project. Each session teaches engineering fundamentals through craft and design. Students apply their creativity and knowledge to create a one-of-a-kind project that they can take home.

Spring 2026: Tiny Kinetic Sculptures
This workshop was inspired by the Exploratorium’s Cranky Contraptions and the works of Paul Spooner, David Roy and a myriad other artist creators. Tiny Kinetic Sculptures introduces students to the wonderful world of automata—moving mechanical devices—simple machines, and storytelling. Students will learn to create simple movement using hand cranks and use the motion to animate their whimsical sculptured creation. No experience required!
